Christmas came early for this gal.
I was blessed with a whole weekend in L.A., just me, Roche, Ry and Baby Boy Turri! Not only did my sweetie insist that I take this long awaited trip to visit my dear friends, but those sweet friends of mine took care of me all weekend long! They took me to some of their favorite restaurants (Umami Burger and Aroma to name a few), some of their favorite shopping spots (The Grove- above), and set me up so comfy-cozy (complete with magazines and salt water taffy on my bedside table) in their wonderful home. The fullness you can only feel when surrounded by those who get you and love you made this weekend such a special memory that I’m sure I will always hold close. And I have to say, my heart had such peace leaving my gals for the first time, when I knew they were over the moon to be with their Dad.

Words can’t do justice to the cuteness and coziness of the Turri abode. You couldn’t help but feel the love and thought that went into every piece of décor.

Something about seeing your best girl with a baby growing in her belly gives you a new kind of perspective. It’s life and growing up and sharing milestones and a whole new level of thankfulness for those who you get to share this journey with.

We cheers’d a few times this trip… but I think we’d all agree that those drinks never tasted better than after our 3 hour registering event in Babies R Us. It gave us just the boost we needed to continue on to register at Target and then to Michaels for some craft supplies! Ahhhhh, my crafting heart was grinning that Saturday night as we made paper boats, watched Rachel Zoe and ate chips and queso… perfection.

I’d just like to thank Ry for keeping us laughing with his running fashion commentary all weekend long. And I must also say, my understanding of all things vintage is more complete after this weekend.

Though I tried to act cool, I was itching to see someone famous. On day two I was realizing that a sighting might not be in the cards for me so Roche and Ry took me on a drive through their neighborhood to see some ‘famous’ homes. So, I’m pretty sure someone special lived here…

or here…

or here. And if I’m wrong about that I know for sure that this neighborhood is used in many TV series for the exterior neighborhood shots. Score!

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the nice couple that bought us a drink at The Grove on Sunday afternoon.
